Red Hot Poker

Perennial, Kniphofia Uvaria Mix, Torch Lily, Has large soft orange and yellow flower spikes. Valued for the tufts of blue-green narrow leaves. While this plant is widely adaptable across much of the country, it does especially well in gardens at higher altitudes. Adds color, texture and structure to the garden. Can be propagated from root or stem. Attract hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Heat and drought tolerant. This plant is toxic if eaten and can irritate eyes and skin. Dislikes chalky soils. Germinates in 21-28 days. Sow in groups of 3-4 seeds and space 18-24" apart, do not cover. Requires light to germinate. Partial Shade/Full sun.
