Maltese Cross

Perennial, Lychnis chalcedonia, "Jerusalem Cross", "Burning Love Flower", Clusters of Scarlet colored blooms and dark green leaves. Florets have four petals in a cross shape. Attracts hummingbirds. Often used as border edgings. Drought tolerant and easy to grow. They can be directly seeded into your flower garden, or seeded indoors six to eight weeks before the last frost in your area. Sow seeds early in the season, and cover lightly with 1/8" of fine garden or potting soil. Seeds germinate in 2 to 3 weeks.
