Annual Gilia capitata, commonly known as Blue Field Gilia, Bluehead Gilia, Queen Anne's Thimbles, Bluish purple clusters of flowers on tall, upright stems. Attracts bees & butterflies. Grows quickly, blooms heavily. Drought tolerant. Reseeds itself easily so it acts like a perennial. Prefers dry, hot conditions. Very easy to grow from seed. Sow seeds just below soil surface. When seedlings are 1 to 2" high, thin to 6-8" apart. Germinates in 7-14 days. Full sun to partial shade. Height: 6-12"     Zones: 3-10
