Coreopsis

Perennial, Lanceolata, Sometimes called "Calliopsis". Has yellow, gold, red, maroon flowers, on sturdy stalks. Attracts butterflies. Songbirds like the pods filled with seed. Sow seeds early in the season, about 12" apart, covering lightly with coarse or sandy soil. Keep the soil moist until they germinate. Makes excellent cut flowers. Full to partial sun.
